Celkon Launches Diamond 4G Plus with 2.5D Screen

Celkon Diamond 4G Plus smartphone was launched in April 2016. Initially phone came with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels at a PPI of 294 pixels per inch. Now its been upgraded to 2.5D screen. Company announced all the units manufacturing from today comes with this new hardware update.
The Celkon Diamond 4G Plus is powered by quad-core and it comes with 1GB of RAM. The phone packs 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Celkon Diamond 4G Plus packs a 8-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 3.2-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

Diamond 4G Plus runs Android 5.1 and is powered by a 2200mAh removable battery. It measures 139.50 x 71.50 x 8.70 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 140.00 grams.

Diamond 4G Plus is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts two Regular SIMs. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.

Home-grown Celkon launches 4G Tablets

Chennai, Mar 15 (PTI) Homegrown mobile phone maker Celkon Mobiles, as part of expanding its offerings in 4G devices today launched 4G Tablets – Tab-8 and Tab-7, priced at Rs 8,333 and Rs 6,333, respectively.
Diamond 4G Tab-8, priced at Rs 8,333, is equipped with Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The tablet has a 3.2 MP rear camera with flash and eight inch HD display and 4,000 mAh battery.
The second variant — Diamond 4G Tab-7 — is priced at Rs 6,333 and comes with 1GB RAM, supports 32GB expandable memory and 3,000 mAh.
For both products, the company has offered Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 discount for college students.
“Nowadays, people want everything on their fingertips and if (mobile) companies are not finding ways to provide these tools they will soon see drop-off in their customers,” Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah said at the launch of the devices here.
“Providing an application also offers tremendous marketing opportunity. The companies should enhance their service division to promptly attend to the faults”, he said.
“India is at the stage of revolution and we expect 4G technology to push internet usage to an exceptional level. Consumer demand is constantly shifting towards devices offering multi-tasking capabilities,” Y Guru CMD of Celkon Mobiles said.
“Over the next few months, we are all set to launch a series of 4G LTE enabled devices across range of price points,” he said.

Celkon to invest Rs.100 cr in R&D, design

Until it set up assembling facilities in Medchal, near Hyderabad, recently, Celkon Mobiles was a heavily import-dependent company relying on China.

Celkon Mobiles is planning to establish an R&D and design house with an investment of around Rs.100 crore and employ 500 people on the facility. The choice of location is either Hyderabad or Bengaluru.

For the consumers, the move is expected to deliver cost benefit of around 12-15 per cent. “We will be initiating discussion with our Chinese partner as well as with the governments”, Chairman and Managing Director Y. Guru said on Thursday.

Until it set up assembling facilities in Medchal, near Hyderabad, recently, Celkon Mobiles was a heavily import-dependent company relying on China. “We do the R&D and design of our phones in China employing 130 people”, Mr. Guru said, hinting that it could ultimately decide on Hyderabad.

On the Medchal plant, he said that the production was being ramped up to achieve 3 lakh units a year by 2016, which is 50 per cent of total sales. The company, he added, had recently graduated to making smart phones priced at Rs.3000 at the plant. Hitherto only feature phones were being made there.

Celkon, he replied to a query, sold feature phones priced at Rs.800 onwards and smart phones in the Rs.3000 and Rs.10,000 band. Mr. Guru was briefing presspersons at the launch of Celkon’s new phones – Millennia 2GB Xpress and Millennia Xplore.

The dual SIM Kitkat (upgradable to Lollipop) 2GB Xpress comes with 2GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, 1.2Ghz Core Processor, 5MP rear camera and priced Rs.6,222.

Millennia Xplore is priced at around Rs.7,000 and boasts of Android Lollipop 5.0, 8GB ROM and 1GB RAM. On the cards from Celkon stable is 5K Transformer.

The mobile, which is likely to be launched within a fortnight, is named after the 5000 mAh battery from which another mobile can be charged. It will have 5 inch screen and priced around Rs.6000, Mr.Guru said.

Celkon launches Millenia 2GB Xpress, priced at Rs 6,222

NEW DELHI: Indian brand Celkon has released its Millenia 2GB Xpress smartphone in the Indian market at a price of Rs 6,222. As the name suggests, the smartphone’s 2GB RAM is its USP.

In fact, the new Millenia 2GB Xpress is among the cheapest smartphones in the market to offer 2GB of RAM.

On the hardware side, Celkon Millenia 2GB Xpress has a 4.5-inch screen with 480x854p resolution and runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It packs 16GB of internal storage, 1,500mAh battery, 5MP rear camera as well as a selfie snapper, though the company has not revealed the resolution of the front camera.

Powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat), the smartphone is upgradeable to Android 5.0 (Lollipop). Additionally, it comes with software features like Smart Commands, Smart Assistant, and Power Saving Mode.

Celkon sets up handset facility in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, JUNE 11:
Mobile handset firm Celkon Mobiles has set up a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. With an initial capacity of 10,000 phones a day (three lakhs a month) with four lines, the company plans to double the capacity to six lakh phones a month.

“The Medchal facility is our step into manufacturing. We are planning for a bigger facility at the proposed Mobile Manufacturing Hub being planned in Telangana,” Y Guru, Chairman and Managing Director of Celkon Mobiles, told Business Line.

Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao will formally inaugurate the facility in a week.

Celkon launches Campus Q405 at Rs 3,199

NEW DELHI: Indian handset maker Celkon has launched a new budget smartphone — Campus Q405. The smartphone is priced at Rs 3,199 and will be exclusively available on e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal starting May 21.

Celkon Campus Q405 features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800p) display and runs Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system. It packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM and comes with 4GB built-in storage and microSD card support (up to 32GB) under the hood.

The dual-sim smartphone sports a 3.2MP rear camera (with LED flash) and a 1.3MP front camera. Available in four colours – white, gold, blue and black, the smartphone packs a 1500mAh battery. For connectivity, it offers 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a micro-USB slot.
